It is a complex and difficult start in the field of textiles and fashion. The 31st edition of Milano Unica, Fall/Winter 2021-2022 marks a new beginning after the pandemic, inaugurating a new season of trade fair events. Creativity, Innovation, Sustainability and Digital are the four pillars on which Milano Unica intends to build a new approach to the event.
On site Exhibition versus Digital Exhibition
The trade fair is the physical place where industry professionals can meet and perceive the mood for future seasons. Digital is a powerful and necessary tool, but at the same time, it cannot replace that part of humanity, which after all, every sector needs. The desire to restart is there and there is a lot of it, even if this latest edition of Milano Unica FW 2021/2022 has appeared more sparse in many ways. Understandable situation considering the uncertainties of the present and the future.
The new trend of Milano Unica FW 2021/2022
Trend Area proved to be essential. To make it the master, some videos projected on a maxi screen in addition to the usual display of traditional fabrics/accessories, alongside the most innovative and sustainable ones. Fabrics, applications, textures and colors were the undisputed protagonists, grouped into three themes with a less decisive and poetic impact than usual.
MONSTERS AND PERFUMES
“It is a descent into the imagination, into a metaphorical diversion that focuses on the search for beauty and for workmanship in harmony with ecology and sustainability (…). It talks about fantastic creatures, conceived from the recycling various materials such as fabrics, nets, accessories, cork, hooks, rubbers and nylon that look vaguely human although out of scale”.

And with imagination we try to immerse ourselves in the world of new color trend.
The proposals are divided into three different themes:
⇒ PERFUME OF THE SOUL
Ethereal monochromatism / Poetic fluidities / Protective polychromies
Colors Must Have
It’s a somewhat tormented and gloomy soul, dominated by the deep colors of midnight blue, smoky greys and cold blues of a cold winter morning. There is no lack of velvety and opaque blacks, alternating with medium grays and some silvery notes.
Cold and milky whites alternate with very dark greys. The great classics, those in which to take refuge and rediscover a certain warmth.
Comforting and timid dusty pinks mixed with light grays, purple and fuchsia accents, illuminated by warm golden yellows.
⇒ PERFUME OF POWER
Bourgeois monochrome / Archive fluidity / Formal polychromies
Colors Must Have
Nuances of beige and warm browns, the perfect neutrals.
Warm whites and opaque blacks blend and alternate.
Delicate and discreet shades of pink and blue, beige and powder, biscuit brown and mauve pink.
⇒ PERFUME OF LEISURE
Lacustrine monochromatism / Galvanic fluidity / Earthy polychromatics
Colors Must Have
Interweaves and camouflage of yellow, brown and marshy greens.
Bright blues and dusty blues combined with moss green and ochre yellow.
Shades of red and orange blend with blue and black.
In summary, trends of Milano Unica FW 2021/2022 enclose a rich range of classic colors (white, black, grey, beige and blue) with hints of primary colors diluted and calm pink and bluish tones.
