MILANO UNICA – COLOR TREND: FALL/WINTER 2018-2019

Milano Unica event has presented its proposals for Fall/Winter 2018-2019 in July, a little earlier than the usual calendar. September is definitely one of the most fervid months, full of events. I consider it the beginning of a new year in all respects, despite the tendencies being presented every six months.

I took some time, as often happens to me, to metabolize the new colors, even though I have seen a preview of trends at the end of March.

The theme of this edition is inspired by the world of cinema: the trends of Milano Unica Fall/Winter 2018-2019 originate from the idea to imagine four internationally renowned directors, called to direct movies and TV series made by other authors.

“There has always existed a liaison between cinema and fashion, the two languages often interpenetrate and are inspired by each other, for this reason Milano Unica has decided to pursue creative suggestions, chromatic impressions, flashes of genuine inspiration from the poetics of various directors, also very different amongst themselves for productions of genre and content.” *

The black furnishing and the movies dedicated to each trend area are the background to the real protagonists: colors, fabrics, accessories. The contamination between cinema and fashion has thus given rise to the Fall/Winter 2018-2019 season at a 28 colors palette enclosed in the following four trends:
